The Guitar Workshop

Modern guitar learning is often online. No interaction. No feedback. No fun.

It’s no wonder that 90% of people that try learning the guitar give up within the first year.

Private 1-2-1 lessons solve some of those problems; you’ll get interaction and feedback, but they come at a cost which not everyone can run to.

The Guitar Workshop is a fun and affordable way to learn to play the guitar. The emphasis is on building a community of like-minded learners.

Sessions are in ten week blocks. Learn a wide variety of songs suitable for your ability and discover chords, arpeggios, scales and techniques as we go. No long theory lessons, just learn what’s needed for each song.

The Guitar Workshop is a safe, beautiful community with no judgement from anyone, everyone happily helps each other out..
and our end of term Gigs are great fun too!! 👌🏻❤️
DM – Beginner Group

Students have teacher and peer support during the lesson and through private WhatsApp groups. Extra material such as charts, diagrams, playthroughs, backing tracks are all included, and any other requests will be met in order to make learning more enjoyable.

At the end of term everyone has the opportunity to play any of the songs that we’ve studied with a live band to an invited audience of friends and family. A safe space to try playing live and to experience the thrill of an audience cheering you on.

If, like me, you ever thought “I can’t really do this”, then The Guitar Workshop is where you’ll realise “Yes I can!” Matt has created the magic blend of a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere with humour and the skill to impart his huge guitar knowledge to learners of all levels. The workshops are great fun, and your fellow learners also a great encouragement and support. The end of term gigs provide a great motivation and really are the icing on the cake!
